YOM LIMMUD ON MAY17, 2020

Due to Covid-19, all Events are On Hold

Your Jewish journey in Durban continues:

2020 is gearing up to be ‘Twenty Plenty’ for Durban Limmudniks. Following on the success of last year’s ‘Local is Lekker’ event, we will be holding Yom Limmud on 17 May, showcasing the very best national Limmud presenters. At the event, we’ll also announce the winners of our Young Limmud competition. This competition will be running from the end of February and we invite school pupils to contribute posters, videos, or essays, around the theme of what their 2020 vision for improving the world is. In August we host our flagship event where the very best presenters from around the globe delight us with what they have to offer, and in turn are delighted by Durban’s warm hospitality.

Introducing this year’s chair:

Lynn Matisonn

Having been a school teacher of English, Latin and History, and then a lecturer in Philosophy, Lynn has always been interested in education.  Lynn’s six years on the Durban Limmud committee, four of which as Chair and Co-chair, have taken her not only several steps further on her Limmud and Jewish journey, but have deeply satisfied her interest in education.
